Dear Lens Reader;
If someone asked you randomly what the biggest celebration of the year is for Christians, I’m pretty sure 90%, if not 100%, of us would confidently say, “Of course, it’s Christmas!” Right?
But lately… I think I beg to differ.
Don’t get me wrong—celebrating the birth of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ (which is the true essence of Christmas) is grand, massive, and absolutely worth a thousand celebrations. But what if I told you there’s something even more exciting?
Our rebirth as believers through Christ.
Yes, Easter is the season where we remember and celebrate the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus Christ. But have we really paused to reflect on how deeply these events transform us?
We know Jesus didn’t endure the cross because He had a personal debt to pay or needed to prove a point. No—He did it purely for our sakes.
“But He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our iniquities.”
—Isaiah 53:5a (NKJV)
Did we deserve this?
No.
Did we earn it?
Still no.
In fact, the only thing we brought to the table was the sin that made this sacrifice necessary.
Ever had someone take your punishment for you? Or maybe clear a debt that weighed heavily on you for so long? The relief and joy that follows is almost indescribable.
I remember watching Miracle in Cell No. 7. The protagonist was spared because someone chose to die in his place, just so he could reunite with his daughter. It was deeply moving.
That’s exactly what Christ did for us.
He didn’t just die for us—He died in our place.
Every single one of us was declared guilty (Romans 3:23), carrying a debt we could never repay. But God, in Christ, stepped in and paid the price on our behalf.
So this Easter, let’s not only reflect on His death, burial, and resurrection…
Let’s also remember how we are now included in His story.
He died – I died
He was buried – I was buried with Him
He rose – I am now raised to new life in Him!
“Knowing that Christ, having been raised from the dead, dies no more. Death no longer has dominion over Him.
For the death that He died, He died to sin once for all; but the life that He lives, He lives to God.
Likewise you also, reckon yourselves to be dead indeed to sin, but alive to God in Christ Jesus our Lord.”
—Romans 6:9-11 (NKJV)
Just as death no longer has dominion over Christ, it has no dominion over us.
We’ve been baptized into Christ through faith and made victorious heirs in the Kingdom (Galatians 3:27–29).
Now that alone is worth celebrating a million times over!
Truly, we are more than conquerors through Christ Jesus—and this is something worth remembering, not just this Easter, but always.
Happy Easter Monday, amazing Lens Reader!
Until next time,
Stay victorious and rooted in Him.
